Part B
Two Website links I explored:

Introductory Chart on the Greek and Roman Gods

World Creation Myths
Introductory Chart on the Greek and Roman Gods
As a Student:
It taught me that Greek and Roman gods are actually the same. That only the names changed and it was because the Romans conquered the Greeks and liked the reasoning behind the gods but not the names because they were Greek.
I didn’t realize that the Bermuda triangle was a U.S. myth, I thought that it was a world wide myth.

Tip:

One tip I have is to look at the left side of the screen. There are a list of places you can go if you click on them. Their names provide clues as to what you will find once you click on them.
As a Teacher:
I found the section that talks about specific myths appropriate for 3rd and 4th graders. It allowed them to learn about different myths and the characters that were in the myth. The myths themselves are interesting, and they learn information by reading about the myths.
World Creation Myths
As a Student:
I learned how the Chinese thought life started. It was due to an egg and a dragon named Pan-gu, and Yin and Yang which were the two egg shell halves. The dragon hatched from the egg, pushed Yin and Yang apart and the earth started to form. It took a long time to create the world. It was a very interesting story.
I learned about some of the Chinese characters in mythology, their names and what was special about them.
Tip:
One tip about this website to help navigate it is that there are 25 creation myth cultures on this website, but only the ones marked in red on the map are viewable. The rest have to be bought with the cd. Also, in order to learn about the culture or pantheon, you have to click exercises, because on the main menu of the culture you click, its impossible to click them.
As a Teacher:
One thing about this website that I really liked was under The Chinese Creation. The site was very interactive, with pictures explaining the story as well as a woman reading the story to you with the words on the screen. This part of it being so interactive will help students to maintain focused and learn new things because information is being presented in a fun manner.
